Michael Lewis, Executive Director of Wireless Harlem, will be speaking about the Wireless Harlem initiative and the feasibility study the organization recently finished.

Wireless Harlem’s mission is to “close the digital divide in Harlem by making access to information ubiquitous for all of its residents.” Its objectives:

  • Deploy scalable community-wide wireless broadband network
  • Ensure everyone has access (residents, schools, business, visitors/tourists)
  • Become innovation testing resource for new wireless broadband applications

Wireless Harlem and NYCwireless share many goals and objectives, and we are working together to help bring Wi-Fi to New York City.

WiFi Hotspot Survey — I Need Your Feedback

I am conducting a short survey on the use of WiFi? hotspots for my dissertation in Communications at Columbia University. The survey will help NYCwireless to develop the next generation of content, applications and sponsorship for Wi-Fi networks.

I need your feedback in order to make this project a success. Take the survey at the url below and enter to win an iPod, iTunes or a $300 donation to a charity of your choice. The survey will take about ten minutes to complete.
