Those living in Manhattan continue to see their Island as the epicenter of life in New York City and the only borough worthy of consideration. It is rare that I see any attempt to provide the people of Queens with the same electronic niceties that Manhattanites feel should be a free and available part of the landscape. What efforts are being made in Queens to provide open access in medium to large parks? City government sells us short on issues regarding infrastructure and support for the arts. I can only hope that grassroots organizations won't walk down the same path.

Hi. I'm trying to set up a WDS using all Apple Airports in a mixed mac/PC environment. This is a new project, but I have set up a WDS network once before years ago. I get the WDS main, relay and remote distinction, but now I'm finding that in Airport Utility, when I look at my Airport Extreme running 7.6.1 there is no longer a WDS option, just "create a wireless network" and "extend a wireless network". What's up with that? My older airport expresses don't do 11n, so they can't "extend" they just have WDS.

That's pretty slick Terry.and even on a budjet!..but your'e right if a person is going to go this route... they really need a strong background in basic electonics...at the least! The company I work for (custom sheetmetal shop) is going through growing pains right now! We have aprox. 8 voip phones and 8 nodes, a plotter. 2 printers, and a wireless AP! So now I think it's time to get rid of the home edition routers, netgear hubs and upgrade. So what is your suggestion to this problem?

This is fabulous news! It's great to see such a strong push for a completely wireless city, and when that day comes we will be very excited. Hopefully Manhattan will catch up-to-speed with Brooklyn soon!
