Until then, as you say the business model isn&#039;t there for advertising funded open space wifi access.

One could also argue, and many in do, that having parks &quot;off line&quot; may actually be good for a city&#039;s soul. Imagine if every park was filled with the sound of computer keyboards being struck, instead of the sound of birds chirping ? How many dogs or even children will get lost in the parks because dad was distracted by an important email, tweet or stock report, when he should have been focussed on junior?]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[The city is asking for the private wireless providers\deployers for alot.  Just the labot cost and equipment cost not to mention insure cost is far greater then any ad revenue that a vendor can recoup from this project.

NYC should be paying for this project since it will enhance the quality of life for people in NYC.

The only company that this project makes sense for is Time Warner.  They can provide wireless coverage in the area for brand recoginition.

For the rest of us this is DOA without city funding.]]></description>
